Kamani is a bring your own wine sushi restaurant in the small town of Ste-Rose. We had never been here before and therefore did not know what to expect. When we walked in we were very surprised at the dull ambience that there was. There were no clients and therefore we started off a little bit worried as to what the outcome of this lunch would be! Although we weren't certain at first, we are very glad that we chose this restaurant. The dishes we ordered came quickly and were all delicious. We tried something we had never heard of before in other sushi restaurants which was a sushi which had a fried sweet potato in it. This sushi was called the Yam roll and surprisingly ended up being one of our favorite dishes because it was sweet and also warm. Our least favorite dish was the Dragon Roll, we ordered it at first because we decided it would be interesting to try a dish that had eel in it. It was interesting to try but it is not something that we would both consider choosing if we had other options. It was our first time tasting eel and we were not very pleased although we are sure that it would satisfy eel lovers! It had avocado around the sushi along with the eel and the inside had crab, cucumber and a piece of pineapple. This sushi restaurant was also interesting in the way that you had the option between "small makis" or "big makis" an example of a small maki is the crunchy roll and the ebi maki in picture four. They are basically miniature sushis! The big makis are basically the standard size for a sushi at any restaurant. Our waitress was very nice and helpful, probably due to the fact that we were the only customers to serve! Our experience at this restaurant was very enjoyable and we would definitely go back here. It is not expensive, ranging from 5.00-13.00$, this is including the chefs specialities which are the most expensive dishes, for example the Chefs Pizza. There are also small entrees such as the spring rolls which are only 2.00$.
